Isaiah's 1st Halloween

Our son, Isaiah, dressed up as Tigger for his 1st Halloween. He had a blast hanging out with other little ones from church and even got out to do a little trick-or-treating! I figure you are more interested in pictures than words on this post so enjoy the pics. We will follow up with another post on his progress in the last 2 months.

Momma & Pappa-Three Year Anniversary

Boone and I had our three year anniversary on July 30th. It's gone by fast! Grammy babysat while Momma & Papa got to go out to dinner and a movie. It was fabulous. We went to an Italian restaurant called Mama Tasca's (we thoroughly enjoyed this) then it was off to see Dark Knight. It was a great evening. I think we might be going on more dates now than we ever have. Love you Boone! More today than yesterday!

Trying to Crawl

This video is sort of long. Hang in there I promise it's worth it :) I wasn't talking in the beginning to Isaiah because he seems to do more if he thinks momma isn't watching. I tried to trick him but sure enough he wanted to move and talk when momma was talking to him. So far Isaiah has said mama, dada, baba, hi and other funny noises...check it out.

The Long Awaited Update!

All of you faithful bloggers and friends...finally. This momma has taken much too long to update. Well here we go. Isaiah is 7 months old today (this picture was taken about a week ago) and he has two teeth on the bottom, he is sitting up on his own now. Currently he is working at sitting himself up. He almost got that mastered today...so cool. He is talking a bunch. Everyday he gets to be more and more fun and a complete joy. Oh, I can't forget he loves food. I think he wants to say, "I was born to eat momma!" Such a good boy, I couldn't imagine a greater blessing.

Some of Isaiah's New Favorites

Isaiah has learned how to drink from a straw, kind of! He is getting the hang of it more and more each day. However, as you can see in the video, he shoves the straw up a little too far every once in a while. Drinking from a straw has become one of his new favorite things!

Isaiah has become quite the bouncer lately. Every day, about 2-3 times a day, he spends about 15-20 minutes in his bouncer just hoppin away. He enjoys tugging on his toys that are attached and chewing on his Pooh bear book. We are so grateful that God has decided to bless our family with a healthy, happy baby.

Isaiah had a blast on our vacation to Laughlin which deserves its own post when I can get around to it. The short story, we took four couples to Laughlin for a great time of fellowship, food, wakeboarding, tubing, and some ping pong. Our friends John & Deena had a little girl on the same day, at the same hospital, about two hours after Isaiah was born. Above is a video of the two hanging out on our vacation. Isaiah was talking it up while Nola was not sure what this crazy kid was doing next to her. The kids are so much fun to watch and we enjoyed every second of watching all the kids interact!

Until next time...

Ninja Baby

Isaiah wanted to post a quick shout out to his Sifu! From Isaiah:

"Thanks for the onesie, I will do all training while wearing this cool outfit. But don't be surprised Mr. Mcarthur, if one day while wearing this onesie tied around my wrist, I jump over your head and kick you in the neck!!"

For all of you who don't know, my roommate from Pepperdine, Adam Mcarthur, is a shaolin master! He got this onesie for Isaiah and he has finally reached the age where he is able to fit in it. We will be posting more on the Memorial Day trip soon.

Pool Days

We finally put Isaiah in the pool. Of course we bought him an adorable turtle raft but he isn't quite big enough for it yet. He does love just loungin' in the pool on the big blue raft. Our pool is up to about 86 degrees...perfect for the baby boy!!

Future Gamer...Momma Doesn't Think So!

Pappa showed me how to play XBOX when Momma wasn't around. I'm not sure she'll like it but I love it!

I got'em Daddy...everyone better look out I'm coming to get you

I may look cute but I am one fierce Halo player...

I'll get'cha later I'm quite sleepy...business hours are over

Backyard Complete At Last!

It's official....we have water in the pool. Sure we can't fire up the spa for 9 more days but we are waiting patiently. I must say it's very exciting to see our newly landscaped backyard. Before we just had lawn and a little sand pit area without any plants. Now the lawn is just big enough for the puppies to use and we have a beautiful pool. Just in time for the summer. I joked with Boone time and again about the process of putting our backyard in calling it our beige wonderland...but I do believe it's a beautiful oasis now! Job well done in picking out all of the colors Boone.

Don't forget to notice our new block wall. Of course constructed with the finest of blocks manufactured at Bakersfield's own Desert Block Co.

Baby Einstein

I love Baby Einstein! My favorite thing is to smile at the babies when they wave to me . Momma realized I liked to watch TV. She figured I shouldn't be watching "Everyone Loves Raymond" any more...so here I am watching a DVD just for me.

Favorite Sleeping Habit

Our little baby boy has discovered that he stays warmer if his hands are tucked under his soft blanket. Either that or it's more comfortable than his arms up above his head (which is his other favorite). It's been quite a few weeks, maybe three, Isaiah goes to sleep by sucking on his little hand. He turned 12 weeks old yesterday and I do believe we have the best baby! He sleeps like a true champ. We started having him sleep on his tummy at 8 weeks and he sleeps so well. After he eats we play for about an hour and then he starts to yawn and suck on his hand. I take him to his room, sing a quick song, lay him on his belly, sometimes I have to pat his bottom, and he puts himself to sleep....amazing!!!

Bouncy Chair

This is Isaiah's new favorite place to be. If you watched his other video his favorite toy is his red robin. Well this little bouncy chair has birdies that chirp and a tiny sticker of two birdies that he stares and laughs at. It's the little things that amuse all of us isn't it? Thanks cousin Lily for letting Isaiah borrow your bouncer!

Date Night!

Mommy and Daddy went on our first date since Isaiah was born! Grammy came up earlier in the week to watch Isaiah while Momma worked and Grampy came up later to help Boone do some dirt work in the backyard. It was somewhat spur of the moment...Grammy told us she would watch the boy so we decided to be spontaneous...to live in the moment and be bold. That's right we went to the movies!!! It was great fun to get out. It felt just like our first date. We watched Drillbit Taylor and ate hot dogs and popcorn. It was a great night. Thanks Grammy for watching the baby boy :)

Big Boy Outfit

This is my favorite new outfit. I wore this to church on Sunday and I think I look pretty cute....at least that's what my momma said. Check out my kicks!

10 Weeks Old!

Our baby boy is growing so fast. He had his 2 month check up at the doctor's and he now weighs 12 pounds 4 ounces....so big :) Here Isaiah is playing with his new favorite toy, the little red robin. Thanks Aunt Jackie this toy is fabulous!

See Isaiah PLAY!!!!!

Here is a video clip of the boy on his favorite mat. He enjoys tugging at the blue and pink monkey or staring at the purple elephant, though he is a bit more scary than the monkey. He also enjoys the crinkly ears on the elephant and the mirror. He is growing up so fast, approaching 8 weeks this Saturday! We love having him around!

We should be updating with more pics pretty soon. In fact I will be posting one more blog tonight on the time he enjoyed spending with grammy while Stacie worked her heart out this past week.

Baby Jack Baby Sack slings rock!!!!!

I figured it was time to update you all with a few pics. While I was at it, I decided it was time to also tell you all how much we love our sling! It was made with love by Jennie (Baby Jack Baby Sack) and is the most practical (and fashionable) thing we own! Stacie uses it every time she cooks dinner. She places the lil' guy in, tightens that strap, and goes to it! We are so thankful we have something that serves such a purpose. To find out more about how to order one of these slings or some other really cool devices (Chic Eats), go here.

The top picture was taken tonight. Our boy is 4 weeks and 1 day old. He is awake a lot more and is making us smile all the time. We think he is on the verge of cracking a smile, but he may just be getting all of his gas out! Anyways, Isaiah is such a joy to have around, we wouldn't trade having him around for anything. We thank God daily for this little gift!

*** Just a side note, Costco photo center sucks (They are deleting my account) so I will likely be using a different option. When I do, I will send out an email with the new service.

Announcement by Baby Fresh Designs

Our Boy is growing up so fast as you can see in the photo above. This is a proof for the announcement we have just ordered. (Just a side note, Baby Fresh Designs is an awesome place to go for any Christmas Card/Birth Announcement needs. Mae is a wonderful to work with, the prices are very competitive, and the product is awesome.) I assume because my reader base is so small that I likely have all your addresses. If you read this blog and think I may not have your address, shoot me a comment and I will follow up with you via email. Thanks for sharing in our joy as we watch in amazement, the glory of our Father through his beautiful creation.

By the way, for all you Orange County folk, we postponed our trip until the 22,23,24. We will see you all soon.

Think Twice before READING!

Well, you should have checked the heading. Now after scanning the first two sentences of my post, you cant turn back! I was suckered into this virtual game as a result of my inability to say no to a challenge (Especially after my O.C.D friend completed the task just a short while ago!)

To my understanding, I am supposed to grab the closest piece of literature to me, go to page 123, locate the 5th sentence, and type the next 3 sentences to follow! All for your enjoyment. Well, aren't you guys lucky. Today, we will reading from the Angelus/Desert Block Co., company catalog that I am in the process of editing (Which by the way, does not have page #'s. So keeping in the true spirit of the game, I have now single-handedly counted all the way to page 123!!!!!!) Thanks Jennie/Brandy!

MEDIUMWEIGHT - is less than 125 to 105 lbs/cu. ft. "Structural" types and sizes are stocked most extensively in mediumweight. In addition to Precision and split-face gray, a scored split and standard color are normally available. (CMUBASICS - 3)

That is all as I am pretty swamped right now! I would like to tag any one who actually reads this blog (Including Jennie as there was no stipulation in the rules concerning tag-backs!) and while we are at it, Brandy you need some of this too!

As a side note, please pray for me as I go through "Foundations" withdrawls. I will no longer be an avid reader in order to avoid a tag-tag back as I have not stipulated against it in this post!!!!!!

Heading down to the O.C

Our boy continues to be one of the greatest blessings in our life. God is so good to us even though we are undeserving people! We just wanted to let any readers know that we will be heading to Orange County Feb 8,9,10th to let the grandparents see their great grandkid! If you would like to see the boy, either call or comment and we will try and get by to see you! We love you all.

Quiet Time & Isaiah, of course!

I have been very inconsistent lately with how I treat others. I feel like I am Bi-Polar. Sometimes I am a joy to be around, other times people don't want to be in the same room with me. I notice that there is a strong correlation between the days that I am pleasant to be around and the days that I am diligent with my morning Bible study. Amazing huh?

I have also realized that doing my Bible study in the evening leads to an increase of knowledge & understanding, sometimes quickly forgotten by morning, but often doesn't produce the opportunity to live out what I am convicted of during my study. What I am getting at is this; when I read Philippians 2 in the morning about Christ's humility and how he humbled himself to the point of death on the cross, and how I am supposed to imitate that level of humility, I regard my morning commute as a trying time to refrain from getting angry at bad drivers. However, it is much easier than if I leave the house w/o doing any form of study. So yes, this is an appeal for all to do their quiet time in the morning, but more so, it is an apology to all that I have been a pain in the butt to over the last two years!

While I am posting, I just have to say that there is no greater joy, aside from the knowledge of Christ's saving blood and His love for us, than being a parent, especially to lil' Isaiah! As I watch my buddy interact with his son, I am reminded of how exciting a time it will be when we get to take our boys out to their first sporting event, or their first go-kart race! However, thanks to some great wisdom from those around us, I am truly enjoying the period our boy is in right now! That said, I will leave you with a picture (What kind of Dad doesn't brag about their children)!

Isaiah Daniel Frenzel

Isaiah Daniel Frenzel entered this world on January 19th, 2008 at 11:57 a.m. He was 6lbs, 8oz. and 21 inches long. We were extremely blessed throughout the pregnancy. Now, we have both the joy and responsibility of watching him grow. It is inexplainable how consumed one can be with joy while observing the birth of their child! Strong and mighty at times becomes humbled and thankful for a gracious God who chooses to bless us beyond measure when we least deserve it. May all the praise, honor, and glory be to God now and forevermore! Please join with us in praising God for his goodness and His grace!

Landscape Project

Well, we had a busy time during the holidays completing a landscape project out front. We built an elevated planter with retaining wall block (GardenWall by Angelus Block Co.) to house three pots that will act as a water feature. We took out all of the old bark in our planter and placed fresh bark, planted 12 five-gallon plants and had our landscaper install underground electrical for flood lights on our pots and path lighting around the walkway and planter. We were thrilled with the finished product. Above is a picture. I will get more on here as soon as we get time to take some more pictures.

Awaiting the Lil' One

Well it seemed to finally hit me! Stacie and I spent the last couple of days registering at our hospital, picking out a pediatrician, returning some stuff to Babies "R" Us, and putting together strollers, car seats, & swings. The nursery is 95% finished and looks excellent. I will try to update with some pictures as soon as I get some. We would like to ask for all of your prayers during this time for the following things:

1) That we will be trusting solely in the Lord to preserve us and renew our strength during the labor.
2) That we will trust in the Lord's will to be done if problems arise.
3) That we will be diligent in practicing the relaxation techniques we have learned prior to the delivery.
4) That we will provide a home for our son that exemplifies the agape love that we receive from God!

We thank you all for the help thus far and will be calling you all once Isaiah is born. Only a few weeks left!

Soli deo gloria!
